Philippine Centennial Freedom Ring

Philippine Centennial Freedom Ring is a 300-meter diameter amphitheater and exposition area. The amphitheater is enclosed by an innovative cable structure inspired by a long span suspension bridge design. The heart of the structure is a cable truss that is directly above the first row of seats. This allows long unsupported spans of up to 200 meters, resulting in clear sight lines for every seat in the house. A membrane of Teflon-coated fiberglass fabric provides protection from the elements.
The Freedom Ring is enhanced by a computer-controlled lighting system which enables the structure to glow like a Pampanga lantern with changing multi-colored patterns on the membrane roofing fabric. The structure houses a world-class stage, and is equipped with a house sound system, an international communications system, and other related facilities capable of presenting the most lavish of Broadway spectacles and other world class events.
