A 4-lane, 1.2-kilometer long cable-stayed/extradosed bridge connecting mainland Cebu to the island of Mactan, the Marcelo Fernan Bridge is considered to be one of the country’s flagship projects.
Together with Katahira & Engineers International and two local firms, DCCD was engaged for consultancy services, including the detailed engineering design and construction supervision of the project—from the preparation of its conceptual and preliminary designs, detailed design, contract drawings, technical specifications, all the way to the finalization of cost estimates and bid documents for project implementation and monitoring. Engineering services for this project were completed in 1999.
