Project Descriptions

The Philippine Coastal Storage & Pipeline Corporation (PCSPC) began its operations in April 2004 when it took over the petroleum storage and pipeline facilities of the former US military bases, namely Subic Bay Naval Base and Clark Air Force Base. PCSPC operates and maintains the fuel storage facility in Subic that was built in the 1950s. The POL Pier underwent a series of construction and rehabilitation works in order to cater to large tankers (50,000 DWT) and smaller vessels (10,000 DWT).

PCSPC involved the services of DCCD on various works such as project management and construction supervision of the upgrading of POL pier berthing and fendering facilities, assessment of the existing concrete piles and under deck, detailed engineering design of the new mooring dolphin C and E, and the construction management and supervision of the rehabilitation of the POL pier substructure and under deck along with the construction of the new mooring dolphin.
In addition, PCSPC expanded its present capabilities in fuel storage by building seven additional storage tanks, requiring an additional new jetty (designated as POL Pier 2) and corresponding bridging pipelines and electro-mechanical and fire protection system works. Again, DCCD was commissioned to provide project management and construction supervision during the construction period of the civil/structural works of the 200-meter, new jetty for accommodating vessels/tankers ranging from 500 DWT up to 6,400 DWT. Engineering services for the project were completed in 2013.
