Project Descriptions

The National Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (NIMBB) was established by the University of the Philippines’ Board of Regents in response to the pressing need for molecular biologists and biotechnologists in both the academe and industry. Currently, the NIMBB building houses several research programs in the fields of Biomedical Research, Genome Research, and Industrial Biotechnology; it houses teaching facilities as well. Located at the National Science Complex in UP Diliman, Quezon City, the NIMBB building has a total floor area of 4,500 sq.m. distributed across 3 floors. For this project, DCCD provided complete engineering design services for the structural, mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and sanitary systems. These services were completed in 2012.

DCCD also provided the same services for the Institute of Environmental Science and Meteorology (IESM) building (total floor area of 4,000 sq.m.), the Chemical Engineering Building (total floor area of 5,600 sq.m.), and the renovation of the Geodetic Engineering and Engineering Science Departments. DCCD also provided construction management services for the Energy and Environmental Engineering Building and the Acacia Residence Hall & Law Centennial Dormitory.
