Contemporary in its design and equipped with state-of-the-art facilities and technology, TV5’s new media center spans 63,000 sq.m. and is located on the corner of Reliance and Sheridan in the city of Mandaluyong. Contracted for its second phase, DCCD offered its detailed engineering design services for the media center’s structural, mechanical, electrical, sanitary/plumbing, and fire protection systems.
In approaching the structure’s revised design, DCCD saw it fit to make adjustments to its existing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. In addition, a site-specific seismic hazard study was conducted along with a non-linear structural analysis, taking into consideration the media center’s potential susceptibility to natural disasters while in its current state. Issues that were identified in the project’s second phase were met swiftly and efficiently, covering the client’s requirements and concerns, with the engineering services for the project completed in 2015. If you visit the media center today, you will notice that its front elevation features sentences in Morse code, reminiscent of the days before information was relayed via the telephone.
